Personality:
Donatello is, well one could say complicated but really he's a train wreck of a teenager. One of two middle children out of four, he craves attention but not in the same way as his brother. Donnie just wants praise from an adult/parental figure, and he'll do practically anything to get it. In his pursuit of such praise, he can be somewhat reckless, like not figuring out that Big Mama was just manipulating him via her praise or not figuring out that Splinter was using him to get into a demolition derby in the turtle tank. His recklessness is also shown when he's quite willing to use an untested vehicle with a little prodding from Raph or when facing a Dark-Armoured Baron Draxum? He quite willingly went in as a distraction and attacked the Baron recklessly.
And while Donnie would call himself emotionless, he is very much not. He just isn't as prone to emotional outbursts as his brothers, but he is prone to being dramatic (using phrases like "eateth thy words" and singing) and also irritation at not being appreciated for his science and/or intelligence. He's also excitable and can be easily distracted, like when meeting a mascot of a childhood favourite character Atomic Lass leading to him kind of not focusing on the mission the turtles were on at the time. Despite his emotionality, Donnie can come across as aloof at times as well, mostly when he is focused on science or feeling underappreciated. This also leans into his low empathy, as Donnie can feel empathy he doesn't lack it, he just has a harder time feeling it. This is shown during Pizza Pit when he states he was pretending to care about the loss of Mikey's favourite pizza place, and also during the movie when Leo sacrifices himself to save the world, Donnie seems surprised by the fact he is crying because of it.
This of course brings us to Donnie's passive aggressiveness, which he mostly shows towards his brothers more than anyone else. The main showing of this is when he made them "gifts" to correct their behaviour of theirs that he did not find to be good behaviour (ie: Leo cracking jokes during fights, Raph not having plans and Mikey being a jumpy dude). This passive-aggressiveness is also used on people other than his brothers, April O'Neil has seen it first-hand when she and Donnie were in Witch Town and he made snide comments about how certain things being done with magic were invented by science. And also zinging the mayor of Witch Town. This can also slide into Donnie's pridefulness, as he is very proud of what he can do and has done in his life. This is mostly shown when he shows off his tech or has a chance to talk tech/science. Of course, his pride is also his downfall, as he has had things backfire on him and of course, he'd blame it on outside forces beyond his control like his brothers or a piece of tech just not being up to snuff.
Now, resourcefulness is something Donnie is also good at. As he's made all of his tech and such using just things he could find in the sewer and junkyards. This also applies to other areas, as when he made his brothers as smart as him he used his own knowledge of himself to set up a trap and used what resources he had at hand to get them to fall for it. Like using his fear of beachballs against them, as they had gotten his fears on top of his intelligence. He also shows resourcefulness in battle as well, as during their first run-in with the Shredder he used all his tech (unsuccessfully) against the Shredder and also as a last resort a hankie to blind him. Although the hankie was kind of a fluke move, it worked.
Another thing about Donnie is he is prone to violence and has slightly less than stellar morals compared to his brothers. This is a fellow who when given the chance, will eagerly try to harm his brothers, has a disposal method for his brothers' bodies and is willing to do experiments on them as well. He's also installed tracking devices in his family without their consent or knowledge. So morals are sort of a loose thing for him.
