You shouldn't downplay yourself like that. [She says softly as she continues to cuddle him gently.]

It wasn't just you fighting but that doesn't mean you weren't doing anything, you were there and you kicked butt.

Well yes. But I also shouldn't downplay what my brothers did too, you know?

[He is totally fine with sharing the credit for the first win against the Shredder.]

Oh I'm sure you all kicked butt, that's what a team does, but you do this thing where you kind of like...put their efforts before yours. You're smart and a good fighter Donnie.

I know, I know that.

[Just he didn't get into the whole mystic powers until later, so maybe he feels he's a bit behind his brothers. But let us not get into his insecurities here.]

Anyway, enough about that! Uhm, how about more ice cream?

[Go go subject change, as he's going to try to reach for his spoon on the table, while also making sure his battle shell is out of the way and yeah.]

[When he leans forward to get the spoon and move his battle shell she once again looks at his actual shell.]

So you mentioned that your real shell is softer than other types of turtle shells...does that mean it's also more sensitive?

[soft_shelled]

I... Don't think so? I do know it's not as sturdy as a normal turtle shell, which is why I made the battle shell.

[Honestly he couldn't tell if it is or isn't more sensitive since he's always been a soft shell and has nothing else to compare it to.]

Can I touch it?

[soft_shelled]

[That is... Certainly a request. Not even his brothers touch it, at least not without good reason, so the question takes him by surprise.]

I... Um... I guess?

[He can't hide that this is kind of awkward, but he's doing his best.]

[She leans closer to his shell, looking at it for a moment longer before placing a finger up near the top and running it delicately down the length of it.]

Oooh. It feels kind of like my jacket....

[soft_shelled]

[It's certainly something, he lets out a slight "meep" at her running her finger down his back.]

I-it does?

[He never considered that, then again it's not like he's touching leather jackets and making comparisons.]

Yeah it's thick but smooth and kind of soft.

[She swirls her finger down in a loop and back up.]

Does that tickle or feel weird for you?

[She will most assuredly feel him shudder underneath her touch as she does that.]

Weird, but like... Not in a bad way?

[She smiles and draws a heart shape across the back of his shell.]

Yeah? Cool.

[soft_shelled]

Yeah, I guess it is. Uh, Cool, I mean.

[He really doesn't know what to do here, so just letting her do her thing.]

[Gently she moves from one finger to place her whole hand against it, stroking it softly.]

This is so neat, you feel cool.

I'm a turtle, of course I'm cool. I'm cold-blooded after all.

[As he just kind of, unconsciously, leans into her touch now.]

[She giggles and keeps rubbing his shell.]

You're the coolest of the cool.

[soft_shelled]

Well, duh.

[And then he realizes that, maybe, this is getting a little too... Something so.]

I'm feeling better, so I should probably get going.

[gravity_grrl]

[She blinks and takes her hand off his shell.]

Oh. Okay, yeah sure. If you want.

[soft_shelled]

[He lets out a sigh when she does that, as he's moving to try and get his battle shell back on. Which is much harder to do than it looks.]

Just. It's probably good if I'm not here when your team gets back?

[gravity_grrl]

[She shrugs and gets up to help him with his battle shell.]

They won't mind if are here, you probably wouldn't want to hang out around Grunge though. I have a sneaking suspicion you two wouldn't get along at all....

[The help is appreciated since he'd probably need to like lay down on the shell to get it on himself. So this is less awkward all around.]

With a name like that, yeah. I have a hunch we wouldn't get along.

[Once his shell is on, he'll grab his hoodie as well.]

Oh you'd hate him. Think of the smelliest, dumbest, most insensitive guy ever and that's Grunge.

[After he's got his shell and hoodie on she leads him over towards the elevator.]

You wanna take off from the roof or the ground floor?

[soft_shelled]

[He can't help but make a face at that description, yeah very sure he would not like Grunge.

As they head to the elevator he's going to just tie his hoodie around his waist to make everything easier to carry home.]

The roof is best, less likely to be seen by normal folks after all.

Okay sure.

[When the elevator arrives she gets in with him, scans her eye and takes him back up to the roof. Once they are up and outside again she leans in and gives him a quick hug.]
