As to what he can do, well...]
I can kind of hold a form, but it takes a lot of thinking and focus to do anything complex. [Like facial features, which are barely there right now.] I can do hands, Ray helped with that!
[And he'll hold up a hand, the rubik's cube he got from Ray has been a blessing in helping him with hands at least.]

[ He's not a puddle, he's got something of a shape, he can manipulate things... a few basics down. ]
There's a couple of things I learned that really helped me. I learned how to shapeshift gradually - the first part of it was when I was a merperson, and learned how to conjure water. You haven't learned that yet, but - it takes will to shape water, not thought. It's kind of a subtle distinction.
[ She holds up her hand and shifts it easily into more of a claw - kind of like a crab claw, kind of like Don's goopy tendril-hand. ]
And once you've learned that - well, shapeshifting is just doing that but for your body, instead of something that's separate from it.

April trying to teach him and his brothers' ninpo, and how frustrating her explanation was for that. It takes a lot for him to not snap at Nanami's words though.]
I... see. I guess?
[He doesn't get it, not at all.]
no subject
She nods at his hand. ] You can do that - how'd you learn it?
no subject
[It makes sense to him, but does it make sense to them?]
no subject
Hmm... [ Of course, what shapes he can make is going to be limited a bit by his shell - and by what he wants to make, too. Nanami considers him, gently setting aside some of her tutoring ideas in the process. ]
Let's try something. [ They dig into their bag and pull out a small game console, which they hold out to Don - without letting go. ] Hold onto this, and don't let go.

As to what Nanami digs out, it gets a raised brow from Donnie before he reaches out to grab the game console.]
Okay, I don't see what this has to do with shapes though...
no subject
[ And Nanami slowly starts oozing backwards, holding the console. If Donnie does indeed keep holding on, his arm is going to have to stretch to reach. ]
no subject
[And he'll hold on as hard as he can, so when they start pulling? He might pull a little back before it clocks on that he should probably not do that and just let them pull him or at least make him stretch.]
no subject
You're doing it! Look at you go! [ His arm is stretching farther, and farther... ]
no subject
[But letting Nanami stretch him is fine, they aren't hurting him at this time.]
no subject
If you just-- focus on doing, rather than shaping, you'll be all right. [ Nanami sets the console (with Donnie's hand attached) down on the floor. ] Wanna try bringing it back to you?
no subject
And sure... [He's pulling it back towards him now, his "face" scrunched up in concentration as recalling himself with the added weight is a lot tougher than it is normally.]
no subject
You're getting it... [ Slowly but surely! ] The more you practice the better... it took me a few days to learn how to make shapes, when I first changed... it wasn't how I expected it to feel at all.
[ They pause in their oozing as they gather the right words to describe it. ] I guess I thought it would feel like... me like usual, but easier to change. But instead it really feels like... all of me is all of me. It still does.
[ It's kind of comfortable, though? Nanami's gotten used to the sense, even in their short time as a slime - it feels like second nature now. ]

[Donnie parrots back, still moving his limb to get the console closer to him. Honestly the explanation kind of helps? Although he finds being a slime so much different from being a manticore, human, or mutant turtle. Just the sense of seeing all over, which has overwhelmed him at first, and the whole holding a form? Makes it so he doesn't quite think as much as he usually does, his thoughts more focused on staying solid and not being freaked out by the whole senses thing.]
I... Don't expect to be an expert anytime soon, but... thanks for helping.
