[He shall take the spoon, and looks thoughtful at her question.]

... Well for me, I usually just do something else? That's not fight-related. So I work on something or play a video game.

[Roxy digs into the ice cream.]

Mmmm! We have video games here if you wanna play some.

Nah, it's fine... I should really check my shell.

[Except that means taking it off, and he's kind of... Weird about who he lets himself be exposed around since it's usually only at the lair when he sleeps that he can be found without a battle shell on.

As he's considering that, he'll reach over with his own spoon to get some ice cream.]

Oh right yeah, sure. Did you need help?

[There's a small pause where she notices his expression and points down the hall.]

Or privacy? You can use my room. It's down there to the left, just look for the pink wall.

No, no, no. It's okay, I can fix it here.

[Like, if Roxy wanted to do anything she would have by now? So it's like, no big deal. But he is putting the spoon in his mouth as he gets up off the couch and proceeds to take off his hoodie, tossing it onto the couch, and yeah, it's pretty obvious looking at his battle shell that it's dented in a few spots. Those guys kicked pretty hard or maybe had steel-toed boots on, either way...

And with a hiss the shell is coming off, falling to the floor or it would but he's moving quickly turning around to grab it before it can just thunk onto the floor.]

... man, it's not as bad as it could be. [He says around the spoon, still in his mouth, as he looks over the shell.]

Okay. If you're sure.

[She says as he removes his hoodie and battle shell. She's never seen him without his battle shell and she can't help but look at his real one, the one underneath, with wide curious eyes.]

[If he notices her looking at his shell he doesn't say anything, it most certainly looks softer than a regular turtle shell. In fact, it looks more like it's leather than a shell.

And she won't get long to look at it as he's sitting back down on the couch so he can get a better look at the damage, as he takes the spoon out of his mouth and frowns.]

You said you might have tools around here, right? I think I'll just need a Phillips screwdriver and a hammer... Maybe.

[The screwdriver to pry up the dented parts and the hammer to knock the dents out.]

[It does look like leather and she wonders if it is soft to the touch like really nice leather is but then he's asking her for tools and she blinks.]

Oh uh yeah, sure. One second.

[She gets up off the couch and goes down the hall and into Mr. Lynch's office, grabbing a case she knows has a bunch of tools he uses for fixing his guns and tech. She comes back into the living room and puts it on the coffee table and then opens it for Donnie. Inside there is indeed a few screwdrivers and a hammer but there's also some fancier tools.]

[While she's getting that, he'll have put the spoon down on the coffee table as well so it's out of the way, and he'll double-check the battle shell just to make sure it's just dented.]

[He means it, as he leans over to look at the tools. Picking out what he needs first and getting to work on the shell now, pulling his goggles down over his eyes and getting really into it. Which involves popping up the back of it, showing off the jet-pack-ness of the panel that has come up.]

[She can't help but lean in closer when he pops open the back, showing off all the jet pack bits. She has no idea what any of it does but it's pretty neat looking.]

Oooooh. It's all so intricate.

It's got to be, it took me a long time to get everything down to this size.

[He looks up, and has a faraway look on his face.]

So many prototypes. And a lot of falling.

[It's hard for her to imagine just how many times he had to test his shell out in order to fly, she can just do it with her powers which are just second nature for her by now.]

Do you name each prototype?

Nope, and it's a good thing I didn't. I probably would have run out of names.

[Yes, he is basically admitting it was a lot of prototypes. As he's now focusing on the dents in the shell.]

[She makes a thoughtful noise but then smiles.]

That's okay, in the end you got it though. That's what matters.

[Always looking on the bright side.]

Mmhmm.

[Loud pops and dings now, as he's getting the dents out. Boy, there are more than he expected, and most of them are on the edges. Thus explaining why he had trouble using it earlier.]

... What about you, ever had issues with your powers? [Attempt as small talk is a go.]

Hrm...not really? I mean, a little at first. I basically was tortured into manifesting them which sucked but after they came out I got the hang of them pretty quick.

[He stops when she says the word tortured, frowning and moving his goggles off his eyes and he'll give her a look. A sorry look.]

I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have asked...

[Roxy shrugs and tries to hide any discomfort about the subject by picking up the ice cream and running her spoon around the edge.]

It's okay, it's not a big deal.

[Nope...not a big deal at all having some psycho treat her like a guinea pig he could poke and hurt into manifesting her powers.]

[He may be bad at people and emotions like... 90% of the time, but even he can tell when he's put his foot in it. But, if she wants to drop the subject.]

If you say so.

[And he'll get back to work on his shell again, hitting out dents where he can.]

[She falls silent then, caught between not really wanting to talk about it but also wanting to tell someone about the nightmares she has sometimes. But in the end she just says nothing and continues to eat ice cream slowly.]

[So in silence, at least from the two of them, they'll sit.

Although it doesn't take long for Donnie to finish up with what he is doing, which is mostly getting the dents out of the edges of the shell so that he can use it properly.]

That should do it, for now at least.

[And he'll start putting what tools he used away now.]

[She puts her spoon down and peers at his finished work.]

Gonna fix it all up properly at home?

Yeah, I mostly just got it so I can use it to get home.

[He leans back now, stretching a little. His bruises still look bad since he stopped icing them to do his work so just. Gonna grab the ice pack, which is probably a little melted by now, and put it back up to his face.]

I can fly you back home if you'd rather not chance it.

Thanks, but I'm sure this is okay.

[That and he could always walk through the sewers if he wants to be safe.]
