[Hard to tell if he's serious or not, what with his usual tone of voice. But he is trying a joke to cheer Leo up?]

[Leo snorts a little at that. He's found his happy place, under blankets in the dead of summer. His laptop is within reach.]

With what fists? [He jokes weakly back, he's cried himself out, his voice is croaky.] No, it's not even a big deal. Just embarrassing.

[Yeah see, even someone as bad at people as Donnie can pick up the hints that are coming from Leo. Especially that croaky voice, as he goes to situate himself next to his twin in the pile of blankets.]

I still wanna be friends with him later, if I didn't freak him out anyway. [He tips his head back a little with a wet kind of sigh.] I should have just pretended I didn't have a thing for him and let it go away. Easier that way.

If he's freaked out and doesn't want to be friends then it's his loss. You're pretty cool to know. [An attempt, through the blankets, to give Leo's back a pat.] And no, it wouldn't have been easier, it would have eaten you up inside and probably put a strain on the friendship eventually.

Not like he really liked me as a friend anyway. I was the one doing most of the friend stuff. He never really wanted to hang out... [He's cried out, but still ends up pressing the butt of his palm against an eye.

He ends up laughing again, embarrassed and mad at himself all over again.]

Remember when I invited people over to the dojo? I asked him and he just... kinda never came by.

Honestly, to Donnie, it's sounding more and more like this wasn't a good friendship in the first place. Especially with the last thing Leo has to say, and Donnie sounds a little mad when he finally speaks.]

Then like I said, it's his loss. You're a great person to be around, you're good with people, and you're just. Great. If he didn't see it well then why worry about him anymore? He's not worth it. Throw him in the trash, I say.

He's been really nice to me before, helped me calm down when I was upset about the Krang stuff. I'm just.... [He ends up leaning into Donnie with a frown.] I'm not super important to him. That's fine.

The situations aren't the same, Dee. It's- complicated? Cute boy complicated. The Chronicles of Young Jupiter Jim level of complicated, Dee. [Oh how he pined for young ripped Jupiter Jim when he was like twelve, but holy shit that TV show was awful. His brothers gave him such shit for it, but also still sat through episodes with him occasionally.]

You say that, but you're the one in an actual relationship. So, I think you're doing pretty good.

Yeah, that is totally out of pure luck. I have no idea what I'm doing with it like... 99 percent of the time.
