[Leo just pets the top of a snail's shell overly carefully, aware enough of his strength.

But... the snails, Dee! The snails! [He tries sitting up again before just falling back over. He lays a clawed hand against his chest with a gusty exhale.

He lays there seeming to... just instantly zone out.]

The snails will be there after you sleep.

[And even though Leo is zoned out? Donnie is going to try his best to try and pull his twin to his feet now. If need be he will sit Leo's butt onto his skateboard and push the other turtle home, darn it.]

[Leo is absolutely dead weight for a moment until he seems to snap back into himself, flailing a little.

Good news; he managed to get to his feet.

Bad news; he's absolutely alarmed about something.]

What- what happened?

[Okay Leo's on his feet but also very loopy, so Donnie is just going to be as patient as he can be right now.]

What happened is you need to go home and sleep, in a bed and not in the dirt with snails, Leo.

[Leo is swaying in place, his gaze darting around uncertainly.] But... something... home? Happening, something is-?

[He can't get the thought together at all, he makes a frustrated noise, grabbing at his face. His brain is cycling rapidly between what could and couldn't happen, and he's struggling to pin down something.] I don't wanna- happen, it can't!

[Deep breath, Donnie. As he reaches out to hold Leo by the shoulders.]

Yes, something is going to happen tonight at the apartments. But I'm going to do what I can to stop it, and if not I'll make sure you're safe first, Leo. But you've got to sleep.

[He's also resisting the urge to just. Shake and or slap Leo right now.]

Been- trying! [He veers sharply into frustration.] Can't- can't- been- trying!

[He tries to wiggle out of Donnie's hold feeling a million miles away from his own body again. Like he's been ejected from it. Even his voice feels like it isn't his own.] Couldn't sleep- yesterday!

[Leo's wiggling just makes Donnie tighten his hold on his twin, and maybe he shakes Leo a little.]

Yeah, your insomnia. I know. But this is a... Bad case of it, and wouldn't it help more to sleep someplace safer than outside in the dirt?

[The shaking doesn't ground Leo, just makes his gaze seem a little more distant.]

No, no- I can't- going to happen- I need to- keep moving.

[This is getting frustrating, and he can't imagine how bad it is for Leo.]

No, you don't. You need to stop.

Have- to find out why, need to know. Have to know. [Leo keeps trying to find the source of the loop, but gets sidetracked since he can't keep his thoughts properly on track.

His swaying becomes something more purposeful, slow rocking as he wraps his arms around himself to self-soothe.]

No, you don't! [Donnie snaps at Leo, anger finally showing while Leo rocks.]

You need to sleep, that's more important right now.

[He curls more into himself, gritting his teeth as the frustration boils over. He snarls at Donnie, barring all of his teeth in the process.]

It won't matter! Not- not when- it keeps happening! Need to stop it!

[And Donnie will growl right back, baring his own fangs at Leo as he drops his hands to his sides. Balling his hands into fists.]

No, you don't! Yeah, it keeps happening, but there are people other than you who are trying to stop it. Like me, so trust me!

[Leo growls back, shaking his head back and forth just making himself dizzy in the process. His body stumbles back, whilst Leo feels like he's just watching everything happen.

Is that even him? Is that his body? When did he start looking like this? Why does he look like that? What is wrong with him?]

Trusting you- to protect apartments! I can't- I'm- [His gaze keeps just bouncing off of Donnie entirely.]

[Oof, he's not sure what Leo means exactly but the meaning he does take from his brother's words is not a good one.

As he looks hurt by those words, as his wings twitch a little as he grits his teeth.]

So... You don't trust me?

[That absolutely grinds Leo to a halt.

The hurt on his brother's face feels worse than an actual punch. He staggers a little, almost feeling like he was dropped back into his body.]

I trust you.

[His voice is still hoarse, rough at the edges.] Scared. Don't want to forget anymore.

[The words... Are not reassuring, as he hunches up into himself.

Especially Leo saying he's scared of forgetting.]

Then trust me to like... If you forget something I'll remind you? But for now you've got to sleep.

Don't want... to get in the way. You're- helping.

[Leo can tell he messed something up, but he can't quite figure out how to read any social cues right now. He can tell he did Bad. He tries to explain, but he isn't sure how to even explain his thoughts.]

Okay. [He extends a hand.] I believe you.

[Donnie is trying to stay calm, considering the situation and how Leo is. He should be more patient but also. He's gone through the loop so many times now and just. Nothing seems to be working and at least he wants to help his brother.

At the hand being offered, his expression softens a little as he takes Leo's hand with his own.]

... Thank you, now... Will you come home and sleep?

Too- tired to do anything. [He's trying for coherency, even if he's clearly visibly struggling to stay focused. He feels so strange and he can't quantify it. He's visibly trying to hold back his need to sway.]

Mhmm. Trust you. [He squeezes Donnie's hand in his own, just trying to focus on that instead of is thoughts just feeling scattered.]

I'm noticing. [Coherent or not, Donnie is kind of getting what Leo means at least? Or at least he's trying to, he's never seen Leo this sleep deprived or at least this far gone with it.]

And good, now trust me to get you home to a bed. You can... Do what you're trying to do after that, okay? [The squeeze is somewhat reassuring, as he'll squeeze Leo's hand right back as he'll try to lead his brother away. Being careful of his skateboard on the way.]

Okay. I'll. Find- source later. [He used too many coherency points, now he's starting to drift again.] Fix, need... to fix.

[He holds onto Donnie's hand as his brother starts leading them away from the collective of snails Leo had ~~befriended~~ found.

He looks back at the snails sadly at least twice.]

Yeah, you can do that after you get some sleep. I even picked up some medicine this time that might help? [Usually they just wait it out, but this is like... An extreme case, so maybe some sleeping pills will help? And after the loop with the ice cream incident, he made sure to grab some just in case.

And ah, his skateboard. He doesn't want to leave it but both his hands are full, one holding Leo's hand and the other with his laptop, so he's got a conundrum here. Or at least he would if he wasn't just quickly letting go of Leo's hand for a second to just pick up his board and tuck it under the arm holding the laptop as best as he can, before grabbing Leo's hand again.

That's if Leo doesn't use the lack of hand-holding as a chance to wander off or something like that.]

[Leo initially holds still, waiting before getting distracted enough that he starts to wander away until Donnie's hand has his again. It makes Leo come to a jerky stop in place.

He seems to blink back into himself, looking at his twin a little uncertainly before his short term memory clicks back into place.

He seems at least a little embarrassed when he puts together how quickly he almost wandered off.]
